WHY CAN’T I GET MY VIDEO TO DISPLAY OR PLAY INSIDE MY CAMPAIGN?

Although including embedded video seems to have more support within email than before, it still is not supported across all email clients; only a few email clients support embedded video.

  • Apple Mail

  • Outlook on Mac

  • iOS Mail

  • Samsung Mail

WHAT CAN YOU DO AS AN ALTERNATIVE?

Option 1:  Add a static image with a play button. Overlaying a play button on top of your image is the cleanest, fastest, and easiest way to include a video link. Directly linking your image to the hosted version of your video provides the illusion of an embedded video in your message.

Option 2: Another alternative is using HTML5. It is important to note only a few email clients support HTML5. While Gmail and Android, devices display a fallback image.

We highly recommend not to use HTML5 since email clients that require fallback outweigh the email clients that do support HTML5 versus email clients that require a fallback image.
