As a marketer, you're always looking for ways to improve your campaigns. You're on the lookout for something to set you apart from all the white noise in your member's inbox and draw their attention to your message—enticing your members to click through and perhaps take action. As a Marketer, you are finding that adding animated GIFs doesn't always work the way you want.

WHY?

Not all email clients support animated GIFs. Outlook 2007 and 2010 will not play the animation. Instead, they only show the first frame. The reason Outlook 2007 and 2010 because they use Microsoft Word to edit and display emails. Since Word doesn't support the run of an animated GIF, it will not run inside Outlook. Outlook 2013 uses an editor that is very similar to Word as its text editor, which can't run GIF images.

HOW TO FIX?

Have your designer ensure vital information is in the first frame, such as the headline, offer, or even the CTA.
