Now that you understand the basics, I want to dive into HOW to generate leads and gain more web traffic from Pinterest. It is rather simple -- in order to drive conversions, traffic, and leads, your pins need to do more for your audience than a like or a repin. The goal of a pin is to encourage your audience to interact with the pin and move to your website.

  • Combine Imagery to Tell a Story
    • Use a collage of images to evoke a sense of emotion in your audience
    • Choose images that share a common feeling/design – your audience will establish a connection among them
    • "A pin that tells the viewer there’s a story being told makes people stop and look at it. The longer they view, the greater the chance of a click-through”
  • Support CTA’s with Visuals
    1. Calls to action help pins stand out among other pins, increasing engagement with your audience
    2. “Create a pinnable image that combines a clear text-based call to action with an element that resembles a button”
  • Increase Curiosity Gap
    1. Introduce a curiosity gap that encourages your audience to move from your pin to your website
    2. “Deliver a promise of vital information that will improve the lives of people who view your pin. People will click on your pin with the expectation that you’ll provide that information on the page your pin links to”
  • Create a Sense of Urgency
    1. People are more likely to click on your pin and end up on your website if the offer creates a sense of urgency or FOMO, the fear of missing out
    2. “FOMO is what makes people grab the opportunity to use a discount, knowing that the offer will be gone in 24 hours. FOMO is why you click and buy something immediately because it’s almost out of stock”
